Definitely, 100% Joanna. It's familiar, soft and friendly. More approachable. Jocasta is strange and harsh. No contest.

I prefer the name Joanna. It’s mainly because of its sound.

Joanna if I have to choose. I find it boring but it’s better than a woman known for accidentally marrying her son, who also killed her husband, and who committed suicide when she found out.

Joanna. Jocasta sounds like joker and caste.

Joanna is okay but I love the Johanna spelling. Johanna seems more mature than Joanna. I don’t like Jocasta. It sounds like the name of an wicked sorceress in a fantasy or historical novel.

I don’t like Jocasta at all. It’s associated with incest, and just has an ugly sound in general. It sounds like a cartoon villain almost. I don’t see any benefits to the name. Joanna is definitely my pick. I’m not a super big fan but it does make me think of craft supplies, and I think I used to know one in elementary.

I think Jocasta is gorgeous. Joanna has grown on me (the 'yo' pronunciation), but it's still a bit lacking.

Joanna. I had a childhood friend with that name.

I don't mind Jocasta and I don't immediately think of the Oedipus myth. But I love Joanna; it's probably my favourite fem form of John, and I'd use it as a fn if I could be confident that it wouldn't shorten to Jo. Which I couldn't be, so I'd use it as a mn instead. Jocasta doesn't suggest pleasing short forms: Jo? Joke? Cassie? Nah.

Joanna is adorable! Jocasta has, erm, unfortunate associations.

Joanna is cute and would work on a lot of people.Jocasta is best known for incest, which makes it a hard pass.

Not really a fan of either, but Joanna, I supposed. The whole Oedipus storyline is just icky, and I think that disqualifies Jocasta from making the leap from mythology to general use.

Joanna. It's less associated with accidental incest.

I would have to go with Joanna. I really don't care for Jocasta though, but I think it still sounds nice.
