Skyler and Iris
What do you think of the names Skyler and Iris? Do you prefer the spelling Skylar?

I love Skyler and its variants. I prefer Schuyler for boys though, and Skylar for girls.
I've never really liked Iris. Its a nice flower, but it doesn't sound pretty to my ears. I'd probably be happier if it was unisex, since it sounds so much like Cyrus - a name that I actually love.

I like them both, honestly! I love the sound and unisex factor of Skyler. I also love the sound and meaning of Iris! Also, the Iris flower is really pretty.

Honestly I don’t care for either one. Iris sounds old fashioned to me and Skyler or Skylar are fine for others but not names I would use. I prefer the Schuyler spelling.

I like Iris. If Skyler is a name of a gal, yes - I only like the spelling Skylar. Not Skyler. That's a guy name to me
I like Skye, or Sky, more than I like Skylar.

I love Iris. Skyler is okay but it's not my style and I don't think it goes with Iris. (It would go with Lily though... both are youthful and go easily with the color/feel of light blue.)

Like Iris, its an English countryside kind of name. Charming.Always had a fondness for Schuyler since I knew a boy with the name, this idiot spelling, however, I despise, also hate it on girls, its an awkward and uncomfortable fit.

Schuyler was the Dutch form of the English word 'scholar', so it's suitable for boys and girls. Calling an accurately spelled foreign word 'this idiot spelling' is unfortunate, and if people regularly do this or even if it just makes life easier for them, then maybe dumbed-down Skylar is the way to go.

Separated they’re fine, but together as siblings or as a first and middle combo they sound way too hippieish and tacky. Skyler I prefer to be spelled Skylar on girls. I used to really really like it as a little kid but now I don’t really care for it. The sound is just a bit too harsh and Sky is prettier for a girl. Skyler on a boy also reminds me of a rebellious teenager. It won’t work on any man over 20. Iris is alright. I don’t have much against it or for it. The meaning is cool but the sound is kind of bland and dated, even though it’s more common for babies now than ever.

Skyler is a okay and a nice name. I prefer it on a girl. It’s not or anything, but I never had a strong opinion on it.Iris I never liked much. The flower, rainbows, and goddess is lovely; but the sound was never there for me. EYE-riss, like sometimes it sounds pretty and other times it just sounds harsh? I don’t know how to describe it. But it’s not a bad name. I love the sound of Irisa however.
