I had a really beloved person with this surname, but I can't stand it as a first name... maybe because I think of it so much as a surname. I don't like it as a given name at all for these personal reasons, and because in Ireland/Scotland this is more a surname, but I do think the sound is nice.

I dislike Irish/Scottish surnames being used as first names for personal reasons, but I think it'd be less predictable as a boy's name.
