Lorelei
1.) How do you feel about this name?
2.) Which way do you pronounce it?
3.) What kind of person would you imagine with it?
I know most people pronounce it Laura- Lie but the girl I grew up with that had this name pronounced it Laura-Lee and that always kind of intrigued/annoyed me because it seemed "incorrect". I actually like the pronunciation Laura-lee as well but spelled more phonetically.
Please rate my "Names I would Use" list & "Backup Favorites" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you have the time.

1) I really like Lorelei. It’s a gorgeous, inviting name. I don’t mind the Gilmore Girls association because the story behind it is even cooler.
2. I used to pronounce it as Laura-LEY like Leilani almost, and I actually used to prefer that pronunciation. Now I prefer the one people say the most.
3) I imagine anything really. But I think of a smart girl who’s really seductive. She just turns heads and stops people in their tracks.
Lorelei Isis
Lorelei Helen
Lorelei Xena
Lorelei Eve
Lorelei Jane
Lorelei Annette
Lorelei Farah

Pronunciation: LOR-ə-lie
Two associations: Lorelai Gilmore, which isn't a bad association; and Lorelei Lee, Marilyn Monroe's character is Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953). Neither are inherently bad associations but those are the two things that come to mind when I hear the name.
I don't know how I feel about it, though. It's okay but it's the kind of name I cannot imagine actually using or being used.

1.) How do you feel about this name?
I don't enjoy it much. It's kind of Lola-meets-Morgana, vibe-wise: coquettish flirtation + villainous cannibalism.
2.) Which way do you pronounce it?
LAWR-ə-lie
3.) What kind of person would you imagine with it?
Either a teenage emo with heaps of eyeliner or a vampish femme fatale type.

Ha ha!
Ha ha!
I love Laura, and would use it happily. Anything similar that isn't Laura doesn't stand a chance with me. Anyway, I fail to see the attraction in a cannibal mermaid. Laura-Lee is probably OK for those who like doubled-up names, but not as a pronunciation of Lorelei. Etymology counts. German phonetics counts.
1) It has a nice sound. Yet it makes me think first of the famous poem/song, and a woman who lures sailors to their deaths is hardly a good association for a personal name.
2) I would pronounce it LOW-reh-lie, though I knew someone growing up who pronounced it lor-EL-ee.
3) Someone whose parents don't speak German.

1) Magical, like a fairy tale
2) Laura-LIE
3) Blonde woman with blue eyes

1. I’ve always loved this name and its sound!
2. I pronounce it the same as your first pronunciation: “Laura-Lie”.
3. I could imagine any personality with this name. I know a Lorelei who is very reserved and shy. Once she warms up to you, she’s the life of the party. So, I’d imagine a fun, artsy person.
