Re: Letty, Lettice, Leticia, Lisette

I read a historical fiction series about Tudor history once upon a time (I can't remember exactly what, maybe an Ann Rinaldi series?) and there was a character named Lettice. She was a true-to-life historical figure, but my first encounter was as a fictionalized version.I remember spending the whole of the series convinced that the poor girl had been named after Lettuce. I'm pretty sure I even included it in a book report: "Can you imagine being a royal figure and being named after lettuce?"Anyway, while I know that's not technically correct, I still think a girl named Lettice would have to deal with that all her life.Letty as a given name is a non-starter for me, and not all that great as a nickname.Lisette is alright.I tend to prefer Letitia to Leticia, but I actually think it's quite pretty.
