WDYTO Blair?
Blair: girl or boy? I know it’s “supposed to” be a boys name, but I just can’t picture it on a boy. I love it for a girl. Thoughts?

I've never liked it for either sex. It has a harsh sound and makes me think of the English word "blare."
Its uber masculine, harsh and unattractive, it means battlefield for goodness sake. Would never use it, certainly not on a girl.
Bleh...R.
Neither, but I can see this happening on a girl rather than a boy.
Awful sound though.

I think it works on either a boy or a girl, honestly. Although, I know more male Blairs.
I see this name as unisex. To be honest with you, I like the way that it sounds.
(Momentarily pretending it's 2008. George W. Bush is president. Barack and Hillary just finished decking it out. Sarah Palin is a thing. Donald Trump is a reality TV personality, end of list. The iPhone is a luxury only rich kids have. We all have iPods, though. Teen celebrities still wear purity rings. People still watch broadcast TV.)

Okay that little diversion aside:
I don't dislike the name Blair.
This will sound kind of odd: I don't really care for the name itself, but I kinda like it on any gender.
The name itself is rather unpleasant sounding. It doesn't strike me as feminine or masculine.
Yet I don't dislike it?
I don't know. I just looked at the popularity rankings and was struck at how popular the name seems to be for girls right now in the US; I figured this would be a rather dated fad name. I mean, Gossip Girl was kind of a thing when I was in high school (insofar as any CW shows were "things" before Netflix streaming), but Blair Waldorf wasn't exactly the kind of character one might view as aspirational for a child.

Definitely boy, I can't see anything feminine about it. I think it's kind of ugly tbh. Blare, bland, bleah, blah, blech...
My thoughts go in this order:
Tony Blair (but I am British..)
Blair Witch
Blegh

Blair Witch

Just one more lnfn, plus very noisy electronic sound. I'm not a fan.
