Matthew vs. James
Hi. It’s been a very long while since I have posted anything here! Long time no see, everyone! I’m back from the dead, lmao. Anyways, anyways…I have two names that I’ve always liked for boys: Matthew and James. These have been so common over the years that they’re considered as “Classic names”. I like how they sound, look, and their historical usages. They also sound nice together as first and middle name combinations: Matthew James and James Matthew. I’m having a hard time deciding between them. Which one do you prefer and what are your opinions on them separately? Also…which do you think isn’t the most common? In my experience, I’ve met older people named James with the nicknames Jim or Jimmy. Whereas, I’ve met more people (3) in my age group named Matthew and nicknamed Matt. How about you?

I like them both a lot and I like both combos.
Welcome back Will! I missed seeing your post.
Although I actually do like both of them. I slightly prefer James. It’s a lovely sound and I do like the nicknames Jim and Jimmy. Because I always for reason end up saying “Jim Jam”, which I think is cute. Matthew is fine but kinda dated and the nickname Matt doesn’t do anything for me. I also think of cashew.
