I don't see why it's suddenly so popular and what all the rage is about. There are prettier names
Esme is one of my favorite names for a girl. The trick is finding a good middle name! I've had Esme Josephine suggested to me a few times, and while I like the sound, it bothers me that the ending E in Esme is voiced while the ending E in Josephine is silent.
Combos I've used:
Esme Rosalie
Esme Cordelia
Esme Andromeda
Esme Amaryllis
Esme Morgana

I like it a lot, but prefer the Esmee spelling.
Love it, such a beautiful name. I love the meaning, the sound, the look, a name I would use quite happily. I remember first hearing it as a child and have loved it ever since.
Esme is meh to me. It has a nice meaning, it sounds pretty but there’s nothing about it that grabs my attention and says wow (like it just fits well in the background and stays there). It also has a touch of old lady vibes imo even though it’s rising in popularity. I prefer Esmeralda and Esmeray.

The name Esme had to grow on me. But otherwise I very much like it. I prefer the spelling Esmée just a little because that’s the more feminine spelling, but it doesn’t matter. Esme is still beautiful and I would happily use it as a first or middle name.
Esme Luna
Esme Isadora
Esme Aurelia
Esme Rosaria
Esme Octavia
Esme Olivia

I like it very much. It's short enough not to need a nn, which is a big plus. The meaning is good, and here in South Africa it is routinely used as a girl name without any French modifications. It is also a family name, and the nickname of a wonderful teacher. I'd use it happily as a mn.
