I prefer Dennis because I'm never sure if Denis should have the French pronunciation or not. I like Dennis, but not enough to use; the only person I've known with this name was a Denis, and a good friend years ago though we've lost touch now. I greatly prefer either Dennis or Denis to Denise. For some reason, here in South Africa it is always pronounced deNEES rather than deNEEZ.

I don't care for it and not to be crude but Denis is too close to another word in spelling. In handwriting, a "D" could easily be mistaken for a "P" so I'd use two "D"s

I think it's boring. Very dated.

I used to watch a guy by the name of DenisDaily on YouTube almost religiously a few years ago. He’s instinctively who I think of when I see/hear this name. He a good guy. That being said, I actually like Dennis but I think I prefer Denis... I don’t know. They both look good. I would be happy to consider Dennis for a boy one day if a partner loved it, but on my own, I’d say it’s a good name. Dennis Connor

I wouldn't be surprised if Dennis starts getting more popular in the next couple of decades. It's a very affable, approachable, "backyard BBQ" kind of name and it's definitely becoming more retro, which makes it seem fresh again.

I don't think it's a good name, sorry. It sounds like dentist.

It's very much a grandfatherly name, but then those are in fashion (Arthur, Freddie, Theodore etc). That said I have always thought Dennis is a very friendly name.

I like it. It's alright but then it's so cool and very nice. I prefer Denis too.

I'd pronounce them differently though. The Turkish men I know named Denis pronounce their name more like Denise.
