Walter, Charlie, Claude, James, or Jack would be my suggestions. They all have varying levels of popularity in the time, but none uncommon. I was thinking Clint when I first read 'Blacksmith', but I'm not sure if that was considered a name all those years ago.Edit: Don't name the lady 'Lacey', I will never take her seriously.
