Baby Cousin
My aunt and uncle had their second child on April 22nd and it's a boy! His name is John Artemis, brother to Freya Lucia. Thoughts?*LISTEN TO THE MUSTN'TS

John seems downright dull next to Freya, but Johnny and Freya or Jack and Freya match each other's energy very well. I do wish they'd spelled it John Artemas, but that's just me! It's a great combo, very steampunk.

John has been in the US top 30 for 140+ years and among all age groups, I think it's still the most common masculine name in the US. Not to say it's a bad name, but I can't agree with other people that it seems particularly interesting or surprising to me for a baby...John is staid and that is a major part of its appeal imv. Artemis is a nice MN for it, antique but fits in with modern trends (deity names, Ar*, unisex names).I think Lucia is a lovely middle name. Freya is ok.

Wow, what an incredible sibset. I've always been intrigued by Artemis/Artemas/Artemus on a boy -- I'm especially charmed by the -is spelling, honoring the goddess, for a boy. Freya Lucia has a wonderful poetic quality as well. And John is practically underused these days! Congrats on your new baby cousin.

I like Freya. It’s quite interesting seeing John on a baby today. Artemis on a boy is also cool and nice as a middle name. (Even though to be honest I do prefer it on a girl because it oozes feminine strength to me) John Artemis is a nice name. I like it.
