Re: I’m bored so...

1. I've always wanted to have twins, a boy and a girl. Maybe I'd call them Lavinia and Foster.
2 and 3. No, it seems vain. I prefer using completely new names or naming them after someone else I know.
4. Son: Eve. Daughter: Justyn.
5. I don't. I think it's cool if they have history, but some names with stories behind them are rather pitiful: Tristan, Ophelia, Job, Delores, etc.. so focusing on the backstory is not always important. Should I really resist the names that I like for their histories being dark or nonexistent? Not really.
6. I'm a bit bothered when a name seems "too made up." If the mixture of sounds isn't pleasant, or its unique spelling causes confusion. It's not that the name is "fake". I think all names are genuine. They just may not suit my taste.
7. I think accents are necessary in some names, or they look incomplete - or not as pretty. Its dumb, but..I think Esmee and Renee look empty, but not Anais.
8. Variant spellings don't bother me. (eg. Mae, Kaila, Catheryn, Jordin, Kade, Jon) Its more if the spelling looks weird in my opinion, like Kaetlynne, Peightyn or Traycee.
9. I've had many names throughout my life. I like most of them. I'll probably give my kids nicknames when they're younger, then drop them once they're adults./
10. Not at all.
11. Hell yeah. Only the parents have to like the name. They are the ones who will have to hear the child's name the most.
12. Ariadne and Castiel. They're so lovely!
13. Most rhyming names for twins, or siblings having names with the same initial letters or sounds. It can get confusing, and I also think that it limits the naming options. And another thing, I don't like it when the same full name is passed down for over 6 generations or so. That comes of as arrogant. I would think that the most recent bearers would feel as if they're expected to be exactly like their ancestors. Why not just make their middle name an ancestor's name? At least part of their name should be "theirs", you know? Something individual that should seperate them from the rest. Relatives are not supposed to be identical, only similar - and as far as I'm considered, being similar is not what really makes people family. Its mutual respect for one another. Not eye color or last name. You can share the same name as someone and never feel close to them. I'd hate to be a junior, a 3rd or a 7th, in case of me not getting along with my namesake. A constant reminder of that person follows me around everywhere. I could learn to live with it, or change my name. It would be a very tough choice. What would my new name be, and do I want to go through the trouble of reintroducing myself? Will anyone remeber thisrt6`6 new name? Will anyone care?
14. There are a number of names that have caused some laughs, insults or surprise. I'm not sure if "losing respect" would be the right term. But I do not understand parents who put numerals or symbols that are not apostrophes, dashes or accent markers in their children's names. I am hoping that all of them are urban legends, but some of them are probably real. Names with hastags for example. I am hoping that it was a joke, or that they were demanded to rename their kids. It will cause much confusion and harassment if those names can exist. I'd never want to name my kid anything that is so obviously not meant for humans, that I can see them getting bullied or having issues with identity in the future. When you name a child, you label them. You don't mean to, but you practically do. People will judge you based off of your naming choices - they compare it to your parenting choices, and others will judge your offspring based off of those actions.
