Darcy
What do you think of the name Darcy? Do you see it as more masculine, feminine, or unisex?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Can't stand it. It's definitely feminine though.
A great name, but I only like it for a boy. I know it gets used for girls too, but I’m just not a fan. I think I see it as more masculine because of the Mr Darcy connection.
It's ok, more feminine I think
Thanks, everyone!
I've got a crush on Darcy for a boy (okay, and maybe a little for a girl) and was wanting opinions. I'm glad to hear what you all think. :)

To me it's feminine. I've known two gals named Darcy personally - one was a childhood friend, and the other is a youth now.
There's also the drummer for Smashing Pumpkins, and the famous ballerina. It's pretty normal, unpretentious, and slightly dated. I like it. As a gal name.
On a guy, it just makes me think of the book character, who's the only male called "Darcy" I've ever been personally aware of. That's a squicky reference IMO, since he's a woman author's blatant romantic fantasy, and Darcy isn't even his first name. As a name for an American boy today it seems vaguely pretentious. And it kinda says to me, "mom thinks Colin Firth was oh, so handsome on TV."
I mean, I'm sure I'd get used to it on a real guy, it's not bad - just the idea of it makes me cringe a little, though.

This is a true unisex name for me - I've known equal numbers of male and female Darcys. I enjoy the name ok, it seems a bit bland in terms of personality. But maybe that's also because all the Darcys I've known have been pretty reserved people.
It sounds peppy but sophisticated, it's funny. I like it better on guys, but its not too manly for girls. It even rhymes with Marcie, which I know people aren't brave enough to name their sons. It'd be a cute twin set: Darcy and Marcie for brother and sister. I'm not big on giving twins rhyming names, but this set has some cadence to it.

I’ve always thought of it as a girls name. I don’t hate it but it’s not a name I would consider using for a child. Other spellings Darci, Darcey.
Reminds me too much of Mr. Darcy.
I've never liked it. It's so boring and uninterested in my opinion.
