It's very blah.

I had a few family members named this, though I have always thought Patsy or Patty would have been slightly better. Pat just feels so boring and blah to me (don't strick me down from heaven Nana!) A younger Patricia I feel is best as Tricia or Trish, maybe even Tish? Patricia in whole I've slightly warmed to but only at a lukewarm level. Patrice is also a classier variant I feel.

I think Pat is an awful nickname for a boy or a girl. Even as a Patricia, I've never been able to see the appeal. I go by Pia.

I wonder if it’s common to go by Pia as a nn of Patricia. I like it.

It's not common, but I never saw it as much of a stretch. :)

It’s okay as a nickname for Patrick or Patricia but I don’t like it as a given name. I prefer it for Patrick rather than Patricia. For girls I prefer Patty, Patsy, or Tricia.

I like it okay for Patricia, though I like Patricia best by itself, or Trisha/Tricia. Pat on a man feels a bit stereotypically Irish; since Paddy never got much use here in the US, but Patrick did and still does, Pat got Paddy's job of cliched-Irishman-joke name.
Pat feels pretty dated, though Patrick is still reasonably popular.

I went to university with a Paddy (m), "Padddddy!!" I can hear it.

I've never like it. It's so boring and uninteresting as a full name. I prefer as a nickname though.

I mean as a nickname and not a full name.
