Thanks SO much, I love getting lots of comments back
So sweet of you to spend the time! Have to respond to some of your comments, just so you know!Summer is on my list because my potential theoretical third daughter (whom Gideon would have been) would be Summer, because 1) it's another S name, carrying on with Scarlett and Sophie (David and the other kids voted that we should carry on with Ss for girls!); 2) I think it's a beautiful meaning, a gorgeous time of year; and 3) our last name is Sands. Yes, Summer Sands, say what thou wilt! Hey, she'd get married one day...Sorry to hear about Mercy Divine! And Divine is NMS. But I cannot escape how much I love this name and its meaning. Grace and Mercy are said to be God's two greatest gifts to Mankind, and I feel His Grace and Mercy in my life. I don't give a damn how popular they get!Socorro is a Spanish name that means "succor," as in "help, relief, aid." So it has a lovely meaning, but I mainly just love the sound of it. I first heard it as a name on a patient years ago named Socorro Torres. I have a thing for assonance and alliteration, and this combo of Socorro Rose has it, certainly. Plus Socorro is a reference to Our Lady ("Nuestro Senora de Perpetuo Socorro," or "Our Lady of Perpetual Help," one of Mary's many titles), which is always a plus.As for Summer Siena, along similar lines, I prefer the Siena spelling as an homage to Saint Catherine of Siena, who is not only my personal patroness (my birthday is her feast day), but who also has her name in common with my mother, who is Catherine; and Saint Catherine is the patroness of nurses, which I did not even realize until I was well into nursing school. So Siena is for her.Again along similar lines, though I completely love Evangeline and the combo Mercy Evangeline, the Nightingale in Mercy Nightingale would be an homage to Florence Nightingale, another "saint" of nursing. Plus the beautiful bird. So it's good all round with that one too.I'm so pleased you like the combos Socorro Rose, Serena Lyriane and Veronica Bronte. Again, I have an alliteration/assonance fetish, and these combos certainly have those characteristics. Lyriane is derived from Allyriane, about which I have written in a few other responses today (linked at the end), and I just think it sounds nice with Serena, which I love. Bronte is absolutely for the brilliant sisters, whom I so admire. And thanks for your compliments to all me boys' names... I love Ben and Jed too, though David would never let me use Jed IRL, dammit, nor Sawyer, nor Archer nor Fletcher, all of which I also love. Ah well, no more for us anyway, I guess it's a moot point. But thanks again darlin for all the kind words, and you know I return all your admiration, I think you have great taste in names, clearly on so many levels great minds like ours think alike *LOL*.And here's a link explaining Allyriane. Cheers!http://www.behindthename.com/bb/arcview.php?id=533079&board=baby
