I don't care for them, especially Tippy (definitely the worst of the two), and together, they sound like names one might come across in some whimsical, fantasy children's novel where Thora and Tippy (sisters or even twins) would be written in as the strange, or even eccentric secondary characters.

I hate to say this, but Tippy makes me think of tipsy.
Thora is okay, though. I think there was an Agatha Christie character with that name?

Thora sounds scary, like an evil robot oin a cartoon show.
Tippy is just baby talk. Like Tipper Gore.

Thora is rough and hardy and the ideal name for a brownie. She sounds like she wields an axe. Tippy sounds like one of these insipid upper class British nicknames, her real name is something like Elizabeth, and her best friends are Christiana "Toffee" and Berenice "Bunny".

I love Thora! It’s rich with personality.

I like Tippy as a nickname for Terpsichore.

Thora is great - a stronger, spunkier alternative to Nora. I find Tippy ridiculous and nicknamey and too close to tipsy.

I've got an aunt called Tippy! It's her middle name, Tippins, also my middle name, from a family surname. I'll edit this out. I like to consider it a short form of Theophania, which is Tiffany.

Thora is super fun and I'm glad to see evidence of its use; I feel it's too pagan to catch on in my area, so I'm waiting for Flora instead, but that doesn't seem to be happening either. Maybe in the next decade. You're UK-based, right?

Thora is OK; I think I prefer Tora. Tippy doesn't encourage me at all: nn Tip? Or Tipsy? If you know: was she called Tippy, as a nn or a short form of something, or was she actually named Tippy?

I love Thora! My opinion of Tippy is skewed since my mom had a dog named Tippy. I guess it would be ok if it was just a nickname though.
