I like Rupert, not keen on Ru

It's okay...

Better than boring Robert for sure. Rupert has a fun, posh air to it. Very quintessentially "British" sounding name to my American ears. I'm very fond of it.

I love Rupert. I don’t like the nn Ru, though.

I’ve always had a soft spot for the name Rupert, not sure why. Ru is an unneeded nn, as Rupert is so handsome and only two syllables anyway.

Ru sounds regretful, but Rupert is nice if you can overlook the cartoon bear. Who is a good character I suppose, though rather lacking in personality.

Rupert sounds fresher and younger than Robert; maybe also more snobbish? I do like it, but I'd use Robin if I wanted a form of Robert (both are family names).
