I like it, but it does look a lot like Cheddar. There is a famous blogger who named her son Alder about a year ago. Thats cute. I think I would consider both and:Birch
Magnolia
Rowan
Hazel
Juniper
Willow
Elm
Aspen
Oakand maybe even Pine and Spruce if I'm feeling frisky.

I know a Cedar. Her siblings have unusual names too.

Better than Baobab. But the only tree name I would consider is Rowan (m).
