Idk, it's just Charlotte in Italian, plus it doesn't seem less overused to me considering all the Carly Carla Kari Karly Carlie Cara names. I'd rather use Charlotte.

I love Carlotta! It's grand and brassy.

It's kind of a fun name, in that "I sure don't want to use it or have it but it brings a smile anyhow" way. But it also feels like a rather stereotypical Italian-mama-yelling-over-a-giant-vat-of-spaghetti-sauce kind of name.

NMS but useable and better than Charlotte.

Like most names, I prefer it to Charlotte. But, I certainly would never consider using it IRL; it just isn't used at all where I live, and if it were, I suppose it would shorten to something like Carla or Lottie, which I can't contemplate with equanimity.
