Lois is one of those names that I have a love/hate relationship. My step-grandma is named Lois. I don't like her. But the name is strong and has never been terribly overused.

Lois and Clark! Superman is all I think of.

I actually know a Lois. She's in my choir class, she's very nice. I think she's 17 or 18. She also has heterochromia so one eye is blue and the other is brown. That's my only association with the name, I think it's cute and short and vintage feeling. wr

My only association is with Superman's girlfriend; the name seems very dated and I'd be amazed to meet a young one, or a Lois of any age really.

It's quite pleasant, and I don't suppose anyone would pronounce it to rhyme with Joyce. But I far prefer the similar, though unrelated, Louise and Eloise.

It's sweet and a little pert.
