Anastasia (and all variants) is my favorite name for a girl. It's gorgeous. I plan on naming my first daughter Anasztazia Henriette. =) (The Hungarian variant because of my Hungarian ancestry.)

LOVE IT, glad to see good reviews...
Although I thought it was a little obscure when we thought of it a few weeks ago, I'm starting to see a lot of inquiries about it, and I wonder if it's going to be an up-and-coming name. It is so strong and feminine, and I have heard it mentioned as an alternative to Alexandria.
By the way, I pronounce it Anna-STAY-Shah/Juh. I asked my Russian coworker, and in Russian, it is pronounced Ah-Nah-Stah-SEE-a.
I think it is fabulous in every pronounciation, and I love the nicknames. For us, we would probably use the nickname Ana, to honor a family member.

I prefer it spelt Anastasia. I like the name a lot, provided it's prn AH-nuh-STAH-shyuh & not ANN-uh-STAY-zhyuh. I don't hate the 2nd prn; I just like the 1st one so much better. ;o) I think it's classy & regal sounding, regardless. It's gotten a bum rap as the name of one of Cindrella's evil step-sisters, imo.

I like the name Anastasia (with this spelling). It has a very elegant & sophisticated sound to me...very feminine & lovely. A great choice imo that will age well & has many nickname possibilities.

I much prefer Anastasia. Anastacia's a singer, isn't she? I don't like her music well at all.
I pronunce Anastasia anna-STAY-zee-ah, but I also like ah-nah-STAH-see-yah. I think Anya and Stacey are sweet nicknames--I could also see Zia.
