Maybe it's been so long that this won't matter
and I don't mean to put you off, but there was a very famous case in Hollywood in the 1940s called the Black Dahlia murder. Very gruesome. Here's a link for more information, but be warned: this link, though it is only information, also contains embedded links to very graphic photos that are probably not for everyone.http://www.bethshort.com/murder.htmI'm sorry to say this was the first thing I thought of, though I am a little older than many BtN members and this may not matter a bit to anyone else.

That's still my connotation, and I'mjust into my twenties. :-) I think it's still a fairly well-known reference. It was teh very first thing that I thought of when I saw the name.
The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness.
To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. -Marx-

There's a movie coming out about that soonhttp://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387877/So chances are it'll become common knowledge.--

You beat me to it, Lillian. :) Whenever I see or hear the name 'Dahlia', I immediately think of the Black Dahlia. I don't think many of my contemporaries would make the connection, but that's what I get for watching too much CourtTV, lol.
