Jasper...for a girl?
I love Jasper as a boy name, but I also think it would be pretty, unique, and different for a girl. What are your opinions on Jasper for a girl? I see it as unisex, personally."You're a firework. Show your obstacles your brightest colors."-MeRate my name lists too!

The only Jasper I ever knew was my grandmother's cat from like 10 years ago (may he rest in peace) so I have a hard time picturing it on a human, much less a female. At the same time, though, I don't completely hate it. If you wish to give a girl a traditionally masculine name, you could do a lot worse. However, I would still prefer using a name that is normally used for both genders (like Morgan, or maybe even Reese).

Jasper is unisex for me too. It's a nice gemstone and can easily work for a girl imo. Like Jasmine but with a bit more kick.

It’s okay

I've always been fond of Jasper for a girl. Like it a bit more for a girl than for a boy, actually.

Its one of my favorite boy names, and i dont like it on a girl, but its very unreasonable to use every other gem name on a girl except Jasper....its very anal, and prior masculine usage would not be the biggest issue here. I think stubborness for change would be worse. The main NNs are literally Jaz, Jazzy,Jas,Jassie or Jaspie. If not unisex, then they sound girly.

I absolutely hate the idea of Jasper for a girl.

I'll give it a pass because it's a nature word in English (and has sounds similar to Jasmine, Juniper), but I don't like Casper or Gaspar as feminine, and they're all basically the same.

Jasper is a gemstone, literally a rock. So naturally there wouldn’t be anything wrong with it on a girl. My only problem with it is that in the Bible it was referred to one of the “wise men”. Jasper just sounds so masculine, I don’t know how to describe it. I guess it’s okay on somebody else, but not me.

Well since my oldest DS is named Jasper, you know I’m only going to like it for a boy! Hate it for a girl and there are so many gemstone names that are used just for girls, we don’t need to steal one of the only male gemstone names imo.

I don't like gemstone names in general, but they are more often used for girls, so no doubt Jasper could fit into that pattern. I don't think of it as feminine at all, but since I don't like it for boys either (just another J-name, left on the shelf) it doesn't bother me. Wherever I see it, my reaction will be the same.

I hate it, definitely not unisex. Nice on a boy though.

It could definitely work on a girl. I'm reminded of Hesper and Vesper.

I know more boys that are Jasper, but I do know a girl with this name and I call her Jazzy! So sweet for a girl

Hi !!!I think that Jasper is unisex too.
It is mainly masculine but the gemstone meaning can be given to a girl as well.
