Have you met anyone with a mythological name?
Have you met anybody in real life with a mythology-inspired name? I have met a woman named Tamesis (Celtic river goddess) and my coworker knows someone named Laima (Baltic goddess of fate and childbirth).

I honestly can't think of anything out of the ordinary. I'm cousins with a Victoria, but that's rather common. There's mythological name variants, like my sister is Brigitte which comes from Brighid and my dad is Arturo (Arthur).

I once worked with a girl named Briseis.I know several girls named Athena, Cassandra, Chloe, Penelope, Freya, Maia, Cynthia, Irene, and Selene. I had one professor named Pandora and worked with a woman named Rhea. I know tons of guys named Jason. I also know guys named Tristan and Dylan. On the subway, I met a little boy named Mars.

Wow, my niece is Tamesis. I've never heard anyone else with it as a name. My daughter is Hermione and my other kids have middle names from mythology Maeve, Daphne.I've met plenty of kids with interesting mythology names, I currently teach a Loki, Freya etc. Most interesting was definitely Lughaidh

I know a lot of Greek people so yes, I know loads of people with Greek mythological names. Even some who aren't even Greek lol. An old co-worker named his son Apollo and a current co-worker has a wife named Apollonia. And I know two Isis, multiple Iris and Echo, a Thor, loads of Freyas. My sister's name is Cassandra.I feel like it's not unusual?

Yes. Plenty. Who hasn’t? Hahahaha. My own name, Isis, is Mythological. Or do you just mean the ones that are a little more dramatic?I’ve known a good handful of Dylan, Jason, and Alexander. For girls Bridget, Cassandra, Chloe, Cora, Cynthia, Melissa. I even knew a Deirdre! With also Tara, Thalia, Uma, Venus, Victoria, and Phoebe. Uhh for starters I have a friend named Lyra Artemis. Jealous, yet happy for her. I have actually known 2 guys named Adonis in my life. One only a day younger than me that lives in my builiding, and another I have not seen in a long time. He was a gentleman, though.I have known a Diana, Iris, and I’ve met a Mary-Helen, if that counts. Maya is an especially common name for my generation, so I’ve met plenty. I still aspire to see Maia though. I know a girl named Jayden with the middle name Mari and I also used to have a friend named Mari. And one of my friends has a niece named Phaedra!

Both my grandmother and a former classmate of mine are named Diana, I know a downright absurd number of people named Dylan, I have met 3 or so people named Jason, and when I was little I met someone named Rhea (I think it was spelled differently, however).

I mean, I have met a lot of people with the common mythological names (Jason, Diana, Cassandra) some of the more unusual ones, are Ceridwen, Athena, Phoenix, Dionysia, Demetria.

I worked with a Ceridwen a long time ago! She was younger than me so she must be in her 20s now.

Robin (Hood) and (King) Arthur if those count. Otherwise, no.

I've met lots of Victorias and Elenas/Helenas, a couple of Dianas, Irenes and Arthurs.
Nika, if my memory serves me right, she said, it's from Nike, not Nicola or Veronica.
I've heard about Medea from my sister.
Larissa or Larisa was our neighbour.

I've probably met a Helen and a Chloe...It's probable there are more, and I just didn't recognize them.

Yes. I knew an Athena when I was little. Her grandparents lived across the street from my grandparents.I also worked with someone who named her baby daughter Echo. I think that's it.

My husband knew a Venus: she was very old, tiny, had never married, and ruled the local Scrabble club with a rod of iron (he was a menber; I wasn't).

Maybe you have never met a Jason, Diana or Hector? They're often pretty common

I meant it as an example, to show lots are so common that they don't stand out a mythological names, like Melanie, Iris, Helen or Dylan.Could be of course that you haven't. Chances are that you might have without realising

Yes I know a Dylan.

Yes several in fact, for instance there is a Barista that works at the coffee shop in my neighborhood named Hera. I asked her if it was intentionally relating to mythology or her parents just liked the sound and she said it was intentional to the figure. I have also known an Artemis ,and Athena and several of the more popular named ones though for those it is impossible to say if it was based on mythology or not. Also fun fact when Hera was pregnant I told her she should continue the tradition with more mythology themed name but she said she was kind of sick of it and the theme didn't appeal to her, lol Perhaps because her name is more directly tied to the character than say Cassandra, Diana etc.
