Slightly off-topic but I hadn't heard of The Starless Sea and, being a fan of Sunless Sea and Sunless Skies, I looked it up... seems to have some strong similarities to Sunless Seas. I was ready to be angry but I guess the author and the game studio are friendly and the similarities were approved. So now I'm adding it to my to-read because I love the Sunless games.
If you're a fan of the book I recommend checking out the games (though they definitely lean more towards horror): https://www.failbettergames.com/sunless-skies/
They're frequently on sale on Steam fyi

I haven't played Sunless Sea/Skies but I have played Fallen London and I loved it. The Starless Sea is a bit different, it's not so much steampunk horror as a sort of dreamy dark academia/fantasy tribute to books and stories.
Love those vibes!
