I will never tire of repeating it, but Anneliese is one of my favorite names, if not the first. If I had a daughter right now, I would give her that name, along with Odette, who I also love.Of course, for me Anneliese sounds better than any of the other versions, although that depends on your tastes. But overall I think Anneliese is an extremely beautiful name.

Here in South Africa it's Anneliese, and it's familiar but dated. I don't like it much at all. Long, and goes nowhere.

Here in the U.S., I've seen Annalise and Annelise where I am. Anneliese and Annelies are cool names and I prefer their spellings.I do prefer Elise. I also like Annalisa a bit more, though.

I like it. It's too similar to Amphelise which I like more, however.I'd spell it Anneliese or Annelise

I really like it, it has a negative association in my mind but I really like it on a general level. It is possibly subjectively the best of the Ann names; if you had a poll to rank all of the major Ann names it would probably rank highest or at least close to highest imo. A lot of the Ann names biggest flaws is "boringness", cute and safe but nothing exciting. Anneliese seems as though it is on another "level" in terms of class among the members of this family. I've yet to come across another Ann names that stands as its equal.

I see its appeal but it isn't one of my favourite portmanteau names, I prefer Annabelle.I would spell it Annelise or Annalisa, I don't really like the 'Liese' spelling.By the way, how did it get so popular all of a sudden in France, in the early 1940's?

There was a 1940s Olympian by this name - perhaps this is why?https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anneliese_Schuh-Proxauf
