The name itself isn’t horrible but I definitely can’t say I like it. Something about it sounds harsh.

I don't like either spelling. It sounds like a jerkish name. Plus it's outdated.

I'm not a fan of either. Derek makes me think 'Old man' and Derrick makes me think 'Young Adult fantasy novel/videogame NPC.

I do not like Derrick, but I love Derek. It was in my Top 25 Boys list but was only recently removed to make way for Damian. I think it's a strong and handsome name.

Love both versions, though prefer Derek slightly more over Derrick, at the moment.

I prefer the classic Eric. I think Derek is outdated and not ready yet for a comeback.
