It’s one of my favorites. Part of that is because it’s a family name and also because I like longer, traditional and classic names. I work in a school and can only think of one young William, so it doesn’t seem super popular or boring to me.

I really like William, and whilst it is too popular for me, I haven't really heard William in full used much. I definitely feel like I've heard of more Wills and Liams. It's a sweet name imo, and not too boring.

It's weird because there are a lot of common names I dislike just because they're common. Not because they're bad or ugly, just overused. But there are a few I still like, no matter, and William is one of them. I think it's just so classically handsome, and I love the nickname Will. It's one of my favorites.

Among the boring names, it is one of the more handsome ones :) The elegant verticality of the name is nice, it's poised but still warm, and it's a lovely steel blue colour in my mind.

This is a "cursed" or unlucky name in my family, sort of the way John is "cursed" in the British royal family, so it's not often used, which makes it a bit more interesting. Forbidden fruit.

I don't find it even somewhat boring. It's a classic, but its go-to nicknames keep on changing - Bill, Billy, Will, Willy, Liam - and keeping it alive and interesting. I would use it happily as a fn.

I kinda like William. I think it’s a classic, handsome name. I think it would do well with something Scandinavian like William Agnar, William Bjørn, William Emil, or William Freyr.

For my question: Do you pronounce William as WILL-E-UM or just WILL-yum? Does it not make a difference to you?

Has a Victorian charm to it, however, so it's not devoid of all personality. I consider it a 90s name as it was popular among my age group (in England), right next to Thomas and Daniel. So on one hand, I want to say it's "getting on a bit" but on the other hand, it's still near the top of the charts...
