Yes, I know, 70s/80s/90s dated and maybe kind of boring but the sound is just so pretty. Makes me think of linden trees. I also don't think it sounds super dated. Sometimes I wonder if it is due to its nature image. -ey, -ay names have always been popular from Shirley over Shelley to Lindsay and Courtney and now Riley and Ainsley. So the sound itself isn't dated and the association with linden trees makes it sound less dated as well because nature names are so popular now: Juniper, Wren, Lark etc. This is my theory :P It sounds way less dated to me than Kelsey or Courtney. Does it sound dated to you?

Which spelling would you choose? Lindsay or Lindsey? Lindsay looks more authentic to me, do you agree? But apparently the place is actually Lindsey so I guess that is authentic too. Hmmm.

What is fascinating to me is how many different spelling of Lindsay entered the Scottish top 100. Scotland is the home of all the weird Lindsay spellings. I know other countries used them too but in Scotland they actually managed to make the top 100. For some reason that intrigues me!
