Kayla

Yawn. Dated and inconsistent.
Unfortunately I primarily associate it with a girl I knew in primary school, whose parents must have been struggling with something (poverty, addiction, mental health, any combination thereof...). She and her siblings were frequently late to school, often looked a bit underfed, were always a bit scruffy and/or dressed in the cheapest facsimile of the school uniform, had poor manners and boundaries, tended to steal small items (I remember she took one of my scrunchies and I was FURIOUS haha), and were often out and about in the evening when most kids our age were at home. We were friends, but not always easily so.
The link between the name and a perpetual state of deprivation plus a tendency towards tempestuous friendships is pretty indelible for me.

Really like it.
Admittedly its grown on me a little from not liking it to "eh alright" after getting into The Sims youtube content and one of the youtubers I watch is named Kayla (lilsimsie). She's a nice girl and it helps it's image. I have no other association except it reminds me of Layla which is similar to Leela, a character on Futurama so that's a faint association-ish.
Overall its not my style, but I don't think it's a bad name

I like it
It was always one of my least favorite names. I can't even really say why I dislike it so much, but I think it is awful. It sounds bratty and childish and insubstantial.
I love the AY sound and I like Kay by itself. I also like Hayley and yes, even Kayleigh.
For some reason even Kayleigh seems less childish than Kayla and that is saying something.
So, I am sorry, not a fan. I also find it 90s dated.
