Rose
WDYT? It's a family name on my dad and mom's side. On my dad's side, I had a ancestor, Rose, then my grandmother was named after her, Rose Marie, then I was given the honor of having Rose as my middle name, Elizabeth Rose. My mom's aunt is also named Rose. Now my cousin on my dad's side had another baby and named her Rose-Marie after gma.I find it ok personally. I do like it better as a first name. I have considered using Rosalie, Rosalind, and Rosalinda before.

Rose by itself is super graceful and powerful. I don't really like other Ros-names as much. But neither do I have the boldness to name a baby Rose. I just admire when others do. And I'm a bit disappointed when they water it down as cutesy "Rosalie." Or Rosie.Even Rosalind and Rose-Marie are a bit watered down compared to Rose by itself, but I do like them. My gp favorite Rose-name is Rosemarine or Rosmarina - but that's more Rosemary-ish, and I think of Rosemary as a totally different name.

I love it, but prefer it as a middle name (even though it is overdone). I also like Rosalind.Rose-Marie is very cute! I think I would have done Rosemarie.Rosalie is too cutesy for me personally. It makes me think of a piglet in a tutu eating glittery cupcakes. Rosalind is beautiful and elegant. Rosalinda is again too much. But I like Rosalia.

Love it as a first name! Partly for sentimental reasons, though not a family name. It has, sadly, become too generic as a middle name for me. And I tend to like the vast majority of names that have Rose in them.

I understand how you feel, there are so many Anne's, Anna's and An- -an, -ana names in my family it's impossible to keep track of all of them. Currently with just immediate family, aunt's, grandma's & 1st cousins there are 7 of us with names containing Ann in some form or another if I did ever decide to continue the trend at least there's no shortage of -ana names to chose from. I really like Rose but it's mostly in my taste of middle names, it feels a little plain in the first spot for me but it's still nice. Do you like Rosella or Rosaria? Rosalinda is lovely btw I myself like the NN possibility of Lindy as well.

I'm not big on flower names in general, and I prefer Rose as an element in, eg, Rosamond, Rosemary, Maryrose, Rosalind ... and as a nn for any of them.
