I love it! I love both spellings and it was in my DH’s Top 5. We ended up going with Maeve.

I love it! Especially with this spelling.

It is a nice name for a horse. Its awkward clunkiness is less appealing on a human.

It’s very nice. Not a personal favourite, but it’s a simple, rare classic. The Tennyson poem is a nice connection to have as well.

I like it a lot! It sounds mauve and strong and dignified, and it reminds me of Maud Gonne.

Old fashioned and lovely. Definitely prefer it over M-A-U-D-E.

Love it. And Maudie is a sweet nickname. I go back and forth on that E at the end. Either is fine.

It’s not horrible but I can’t honestly say that I like the name.

I quite like Maud. It stands out. And although it's an old-fashioned name, it sounds modern, imo.

Don't like it at all

I love Maud! It has panache and gravitas.

I prefer the Maude spelling, since it looks more like its own name and not a nickname (which I know is its origin); but I do like Maud. I actually prefer it to Matilda, which I've never warmed up to (nor have I to most -ild names). "Maudie" is cute, too.

I can’t bring myself to like it.

I generally prefer -e endings myself as it looks more complete to me so I prefer "Maude". I like it in a kind of quirky, adorkable kind of way. I can imagine a little Maude in a beanbag chair reading a book.

I like it better with an e at the end: MaudeMakes me think of the movie Harold and Maude
