Guilty Pleasure Nicknames
I have a Confession to make: of all the Elizabeth nickname to be had, probably more so than all the other English names, my favorite is by far: Bethy. Not even Beth, or Betty but in fact Bethy. I know it is infantile/babyish, sticky, and super awkward both verbally and visually but I just took to liking it as a child because of a friend of mine named Elizabeth. She wasn't even a "Beth" Elizabeth but an "Eliza" Elizabeth. What's more is I had unintentionally gotten others to do the same and the NN has occasionally followed her into her mid-20s in the present day. Luckily Elizabeth is good natured and reports liking it fine and not resenting me for pegging her with possibly the worst of the Elizabeth NNs but as it stands I still love Bethy, probably directly tied to my love of my friend. If I ever named a daughter Elizabeth / Elisabeth it's almost guaranteed I'd gravitate to calling them this eventually. Such an individual would probably want to switch to "Beth" "Betsy" or "Betty" though they probably wouldn't be as generous as the original "Bethy" on the NN. It's probably my ultimate GP, even after the weird nature names I like including things like Tundra, Hawkeye, River Spirit and Snow Blossom O_O
With this said: do you have any deep seated "dumb" or "infantile" nicknames that You still love regardless of rational? Nicknames you know you probably "shouldn't" like but like regardless? Please share! :)
Please rate my "Names I would use" list if you have a spare moment, feel free to rate other lists too if you want but ik there's a lot, thank you :) https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/223226/138473

Aww I like Avie that's cute
I've never heard of gable on Gabriel before that's a new one to me
I can’t say I share your fervor for Elizabeth nickname Bethy, I’m more of a Ellie / Lizzie / Eliza person when it comes to Elizabeth myself. I really like the nickname Plum for Victoria, (like the Victoria plum...) but it wasn’t received very favorably in the polls or on the boards...I still do think it’s cute, and quirky without being overboard. I also like the name Ziggy, which is nickname-esque (and honestly, even cat-like).
Edit: I also like Frances nickname Fran. :)

Bethy is okay. At least it makes a lot of sense. I hate far fetched nicknames for it such as Lily. I understand that hundreds of years ago when there were so many Elizabeths you had to use any nickname you could think of to tell them all apart. But Elizabeth nn Lily, Mary nn Mamie or Margaret nn Greta don't make sense to me these days, might as well just use Greta, Mamie and Lily.
Hmmm, no I am not a huge nickname person. I like Jessie on its own but that is about it. Actually, now that you say it, I think I wouldn't use a nickname at all for any of my favorites which are:
Lily - no
Maia - no
Annabel - no
Luana - no
Finn - no
Cormac - no, but he might occasionally become Mac
Oisín - maybe Osh sometimes?
Finlay - okay, he's often be Finn
Fionn - no
Oliver - no, even though sometimes Ollie maybe
Edmund - okay here I like Teddy for a baby, young child
Eilonwy - maybe Eila or Eily sometimes, but not really often
Elinor - no
I guess I am not a huge nickname person. But Eily would be the weirdest I guess but I'd only use it sometimes.

Elizabeth must really like you a lot, haha.
I call my daughter Lala sometimes and hope she does not think it is too dumb. It's kinda supposed to be dumb.
River Spirit is pretty funny. I think I'll use that one for the next dudebro I see standing on a rock and peeing into a river. Hey, River Spirit.
My gp dumb-nickname is Melly, for Melanie or Melissa.
And Jory for Marjorie.
And Deitra for Demetria, although that is less dumb.
My favorite Elizabeth nick is Betty or Bette (same prn).
