There have been some girls named Sansa in the US.
I think it sounds pleasant, but the closest names I'd heard to it originally were Sandra, Chandra, Sandrine, or *issa names, all of which seemed a bit dated, compared to Aria, Ariana, Arianna, Ariella which were rising in popularity when the show came out.
I think the image people who've watched the show get from it might be similar to Anastasia (tragic little girl) but without the illustrious history...or if not that, Cersei.
