Cooper?
What do you all think of the name Cooper? And if you like it, do you like it on a boy or a girl?

I really like it, because it makes me think of Mini Coopers, which I absolutely love! I only like it for a boy, not feminine enough for a girl.
Cooper is what Gideon calls a computer
or he did until his speech became more refined (quite some time ago, now that I think of it). Now he says "computer" like everybody else. (He's almost four, btw.)
I really like the name Cooper. I can't even tell you why. I know a couple of Carter's and that name really makes me itch, whereas the incredibly similar Cooper sounds downright sexy. Go figure.
Honestly, though, I am a bit more of a traditionalist when it comes to fn's and would probably save this gem for a mn. But thumbs definitely up.
ETA And please for God's sake whatever you do don't use it for a girl. Gross. Name her Madison if you have to; hell, name her Carter, but not this. Let the boys keep one trendy surname name!

I love Cooper for a girl. It's okay on a boy, but if I were going to use it, it'd be on a girl. My reasoning is that my grandmother's maiden name was Cooper and I'd use it to honor her and it just doesn't feel right on a boy. Dh won't let me use it no matter what though.

I like Cooper..for a boy. Not at all for a girl.
I am so tired of this surname as fn trend. When will it go away?
My stock response is it's fine if the surname is from your own family tree -- otherwise it's tacky. But to be honest, the rampant practice of using anyone else's surname has diluted the beauty of handing down heritage so much that I don't even like it in the fn position. The mn position seems the best place anymore.

I really like Cooper for a boy. For a girl its horrible.
It has grown on me a lot lately, although I doubt that I'd ever use it. I only like it for a boy. I can't at all see it as a girl's name; it just sounds too masculine imo.

Cooper the Pooper.
Another agreement. Yuck.
Yes indeed. {nt}
Only on a boy. Why would you use it for a girl?
I like it but I would never use it. Way to many with that last name in my area.
