Philip!Phillip spelled this way with two L just looks unnecessary and over done to me! Sorry

My husband has the two-l version so that's kind of the default one for me. But really, it doesn't make any difference to me. This is probably the only name with more than one "standard" spelling where I don't have a preference.

Phillip annoys me profoundly. At best, it is a false etymology; usually it is a sign of mental laziness. Philip is good enough to use, probably ony as a mn.Similarly, Philippa is wonderful, fn or mn, and Phillipa is even worse than Phillip.

PhilipDouble L reminds me of a surname and one L a first name. I feel the same about Alison versus Allison
