Nah, it sounds ugly to me. I suppose I'm biased because my deranged half-sister is named Dawn, and she has a heavy Long Island accent, so she and her familiars pronounce her name really gratingly...

Eos is much cooler.

It never sounded even slightly fresh to me, I'm afraid. A friend's mother must have been one of the first Dawn people, and she hated it, thought it was horribly sentimental, resented not having had a mn ... and I've got a step-niece named Dawn who is a rather difficult person, which doesn't help.

Yawn.

I always did like Dawn. It's so soft and pretty, but not fancy at all either. It makes a great mn or fn.
