I’ve always really liked this name. It’s never been super duper popular here in Australia, nor does it have the negative, trashy image that it seems to have in the USA. I always thought it was pretty and I love the nature, gem connection and the colour.

I find the sound really unattractive.

I like it (like most gemstone names) but it’s kind of dated.

I really like it. I think it’s very pretty.

Meh. My only association is to a woman who cared for my disabled son a few years back. Turned out she was not following the rules set by the state, so that took any possible shine off her name, for me.

Part of me likes Amber's "trashiness". My aunt had a dog named Amber, so I think of Amber the dog when I hear this name. I think it could be an interesting middle name. Amber is like Jordan (on a girl) for me - I love the sound of the name itself. I'm trying to decide if Ambar and Ambre are better or worse....Wow, Ambre is super popular in France!

Don't really like it and I prefer Amy

I don’t have very good associations with it but it’s not the worse name I ever heard.

Very pretty but gives off a snobby vibe to me.

I like Amber, always have. It's also my favorite stone. But somehow the name developed a "trashy" reputation in the 2000s (I doubt Amber Frey / the whole "Scott Peterson" case helped matters); which is a shame.
