So today I realized that this is like, the perfect name. I mean, in terms of my own standards.
It's got everything I love. It's OTT to the point of being trashy, it's Romantic, it's historical, it's got morbid associations, it's unpopular, and it's got great potential nicknames that range from sweetly vintage to brassy (
Annie,
Nettie,
Toni). It's also a family name because my great-grandfather had a sister named
Antoinette (she was a
Toni). It's got it ALL, baby. The only thing that makes me sad is that we don't know what it means. I think the traditional made-up meaning for it is "priceless" (at least, that's what I remember reading in many, many, many baby name books), which is just beautifully tacky.
Anyway, what do you think about
Antoinette? Do you prefer
Antonia? (I also love
Antonia a really lot, it's so booming)
Feel free to share any combos, if you want! I'm going to be playing with this name for a bit.
