Isolda
Rate it. It means “beautiful” apperently.

I'd rather pretend it means "is olde".
The "Ice battle" meaning for Ishild is pretty epic, though.
It's okay - understated seeming for something so rare. 5/10
I prefer the versions spelled with a y or z: Yseult, Izolda ... they look snazzier to me and don't contain the word 'sold'.

Prefer Isolde probably due to the Tristan & Isolde story.
I prefer Isolde, which I like a lot.
6/10
Not my usual style, but pretty

I really want to like it (cool literary name, I is a great initial) but it sounds identical to the way I pronounce "is older".
I literally cannot pronounce Isolda and "is older" differently. I have a south-east English accent.

Don't really like it
Where did you find that meaning?
Honestly..
I looked it up. I see a bunch of random different meanings. “Fair lady” “ice” “warrior” “beautiful” etc etc.

Any source other than BTN isn't very reliable - baby name websites tend to give vanity meanings, but behindthename is an etymology website and actually investigates. #loyalty #cult #cultloyalty #etymology
If you ever did stand up or wrote I would be so delighted. Those hashtags tickled me.
The real meaning is actually "ice, iron" and "battle", see Isolde (Isolda is a variant of it)
No doubt you looked it up. But if you can't tell us where, we have no way of knowing how reliable your source is. However, the kind of sources that give 'meanings' like 'beautiful' and 'fair lady' tend to be unreliable. Just saying ...
There are lots of websites that change meanings to make them favourable and palatable to prospective parents. I think the battle element "hold" from the older name Ishild is a more likely meaning.
