Darcy ( Boy or girl?)
I like it for a boy and recently its become one of my favorite boys names, along with Jude.
Im worried that although both names for a boy sound maybe girly, Maybe they just dound too much like Judy and Tracey. Anyway would you prefer Darcy for boy or girl.
Your opinions on the whole matter are greatly accepted also.
Edit to add: I know Tracey is unisex but I always think of it for a girl.

Boy! I love it for a boy.
Always a favourite of mine. Boy or girl, I think, though it's traditionaly male.
Both are boyish to me.
I can't even comprehend the idea of Jude on a girl (although I have seen it before; I just adore it as a masculine name). I really hope Jude never really goes to the girls. That would depress me.
While I can see Darcy as a girl's name (and can understand why it could be considered feminine), it just screams "Mr. Darcy" to me. I guess it doesn't help that I loved that book, but even before I'd read it, I still associated the name with him.
Anyways, if it really does bother you, then I guess I'd have to say don't do it. But if you still love the names that much, I'd advise you to hold on to them. (And wait and see if the names make serious leaps to the girls' side, particularly Jude. :o))

I don't mind Darcy on either sex. I knew a female Darcy, so I can see it on a girl, but I love Pride and Prejudice, so I can see it on a boy. It's truly unisex in my mind. I'd rather see Daria on a girl than Darcy, though, to be honest. :D
Jude, however, is fully masculine to me. It's only acceptable on a girl as a casual nickname for Judith (like Jules for Julia). I also like Judah for a boy; St. Judah was pretty darned cool, after all.
Tracy sounds feminine to me, simply because my step-evil is a Tracy. Ugh. ;)

I prefer Darcy for a boy but it is a surname with a unisex meaning so Though I personally wouldnt use it for a girl , it is fine for someone elses child
Jude I also prefer for a boy but I dont mind it for a girl either because where I live it is a short form of Judith
Tracey is fine for boy or girl but its not my style

Boy, all the way. It makes me think of Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice. I don't find it girly at all.
I think of it more on a girl but I think it would be really great to hear it on a boy more often. A little boy named Darcy...really cute now that i think more about it!
Just so you know...I would like to thank you for bringing this name to my attention recently and it is now in my top 5 for boys! Yay! I LOVE it.
It's a boy to me, but I really don't like it all that much.

Boy name, definitely! It's one of my favorite boy names too though I probably won't ever get to use it because I have too many favorite boys names...lol
With, Darcy, I think there's an equal amount of people who feel this is a boy vs. girl name just because of Pride & Prejudice.
I love it :-)

Meant to be under OP post. woops
I have a guy friend named Darcy, but when ever we refer to him around people who don't know him - like "I'm going to the movies with Darcy" for instance - everyone ALWAYS assumes we are talking about a girl.
To me, it just doesn't have an strength as a guys name, like Dana.
