I love it, I am only 12, but when I grow up, well I've already decided on names!
Marina is one of my favorites for girls, but I am a diffy speller, I love to spell names different as you can see my name is like that.
I would spell it the following ways, you can choose the best.
Merina
Marena
Marinna
Marinah
My other favorite names are:
Aimey/Amy/Aimee
Noemie
Lena
Michelle
Riley
Rebecca/Rebekah
Sarah
Brett
Brandyn/Branden
Brody/Brodie

I'm not fond of it. I used to have a doll named Marina, so I used to love the name, but now it reminds me of actual marinas. Like convenience stores for boats.

I like it only because that's the name of a girl I know, so I have a very positive association :-)~ Kari

My younger sister's best friend's name is Marina Kathleen. My dad teases her to no end about it, asking her where she aprks the boats, and all sorts of diffrent things. SO make sure you think of that. And like soem said it is like naming your kid Harbour.

I think its a place to store boats . . .Admittedly, it sounds nice and pretty, but it'd be kind of like naming a kid Harbor to me.

said it once, I'll say it before. It reminds me of a marina. Decide for yourself whether that's good, bad or just neutral.

This is the name of my cousin, Marina Lynne. I think that I love this name because of her ... she is the cutest little blonde girl with the brightest blue eyes. I think the name is a really cute name that works well on both a little girl and a woman. It's playful yet dignified and I, personally, think that it sounds beautiful. I also like Maren.

I don't like it, because of an association I have with it. I like Maria, Marianna and the Danish form Maren.

LOVE IT! It's so pretty, and reminds me of the see, which I love. I prefer it to Maria or MarianaElla

I've commented on this one before at some point, but still, I love it. It even suggests its own meaning, while still sounding name-y and not being too literal. I think it's a perfectly balanced name - it's modest, earthy, approachable, but not homely, hokey or too plain; it's meaningful, pleasant and dignified, but not stuffy, ornate or fanciful.Besides, I just love M-r-- names. - chazda

I actually like this one a fair bit, but never seem to think to use it in combos.I almost sugested it to my friend, a marine machanic, if his child ended up being a girl but its a going to be a boy so no need to.

I think it has an absolutely beautiful meaning, but I'm not quite sure if I like the name itself. Kat's suggestion of Marina Rosalind is pretty, though. It seems to settle nicely with a middle name.

I absolutely love it; it's beautiful, with a great meaning and history. I think Marina Rosalind is a great combination.
