It's OK. I immediately thought "Oh, like the record label" for what that's worth.

I immediately think of barista. I don't care for it.

I honestly considered this name for myself, because I had a dream about it (sort of). I really want to like Arista, but I just can't warm up to it. It's so...flimsy. It's a record label, and it really sounds like it. There's something very soulless, flat and manufactured about it that I just don't care for. But I WANT to like it. It's frustrating.

I like it. I remember encountering a student with this name at my job (school) and being surprised at its use in real life, since it's a (relatively) obscure astronomy name. Not many names end in -ista (Calista / Callista, Trista... those are the only others off the top of my head).

Unfortunately in Italy 'arista' is a meat dish. I can't see it as a given name.
