I don't like it

I think Violet is a beautiful name. I love the flower, so that is what I associate it with.

I love this name. My friend Teresa is naming her baby Violet. My only concern with the name is that it will become quite dated eventually, but it's still beautiful, and I love the colour and the flower.

I did actually like this name as a kid when I said it out loud... but not when it was written. Because it was one letter off of "violent." That's why I preferred Viola for many years (well, that and Shakespeare in Love). Now the "violent" association isn't so strong for me, so I prefer the English name for the flower - as a first or middle.

I have been thinking about Violana lately, though.

Pretty, gentle, and I like that it begins with V and ends with something other than a or n. On the wrong person, it can come across as droopy like a fading violet.

Very pretty. I've only met one, many years ago.
