I have never met a Raymond IRL.
My first association is Captain Raymond Holt from Brooklyn 99, who is an African American and a wonderful character on the TV show.
I do think Raymond is very dignified, but also friendly. Ray for me works as a nickname and a full name in its own right. Very friendly and reliable.
Myron sounds awkward and nerdy. I have no associations with it at all but I can't imagine it on a young man. Although I imagine most Raymond's are older, I can easily picture a young Ray.
