It's a sturdy, salt-of-the-earth name. Plus, Eddie is an adorable nickname. It's definitely not irredeemably hideous -- I find it infinitely lovelier than Sloane, Kayley, Riley, etc.

I also prefer it over Kayley and Riley... but I love Sloane lol. Sloane is totally ugly but... lol it's appealing in a slinky, gray, snake-like way.
Both Edna and Sloane have a puggish quality... but Edna is young and poppy, whereas Sloane is tired and baggy... yet I just love Sloane for some reason.
