Brendan
My last post for today ;)What do you think of Brendan?I really like its etymology. I'm not such a huge fan of Brandon, on the other hand and they give me very different images. Is there a very noticeable difference in your accent between Brandon and Brendan? Which do you prefer? Where are you from (UK; US etc.)

They are definitely distinct for me. (South-Eastern Canada).I prefer Brandon. I feel like it sounds more masculine and rugged. I like the Bran sound (likely due to GoT). Brendon is nice but it's too soft for my tastes.

I actually think I like Brandon slightly better than Brendan, though they are both fine. I may have a subconscious association I am not aware of. But Brandon feels brighter and more cheerful to me. Brendan feels a little darker and solemn. No idea why. Brendan does have the advantage of being a little less commonplace. I'm in the midwest USA.

It is FAR better than Brandon, which feels like a shallow, 80s asshole name. Brendan at least feels like a *real* name to me, whatever that means. That said, I still don't like it. The sound is just not appealing.Brandon and Brendan sound pretty different in my accent (US).

I'm in South Africa.I love Brendan and would have used it, given enough sons. My son Peter's best friend, since they were both three years old, is a Brendon, and I suppose I would have used that, though I don't enjoy it as much. Like my son, Brendon is a computer whizz; unlike him, Brendon used to play underwater hockey. Brandon just doesn't have the distinctive vibe I get from Brend*n. Surnamey, with a dash of Marlon Brando ... not to mention a brand plucked from the burning, which doesn't appeal at all. In my accent, they couldn't be confused.

I feel neutral to it. A fairly decent name that pretty much just exists. I do prefer it slightly more to Brandon as I prefer the sound of "Bren" over "Bran". Plus I think Brendon sounds less common and trendy.

I'm from the US and I like Brendan a lot; it feels and sounds very different from Brandon to me. Brandon seems more popular and maybe dated. Brenden doesn't feel as trendy to me.
