John

This is the name of my ex, the father of my children. I absolutely love this name, and think now would be a great time to use it because right now it is rare for a child. He would not be one of many in his class at school. I gave the name John to one of my boys as his mn, for obvious reasons.
This is my baby cousin's name, but I still find it horribly boring. Like, it's not a bad name, but it's so plain and predictable.
I like John and I love Jack. I don't care for Jonathan. Evan is appealing sound wise, but it feels kind of flimsy and dated to me. Is Zane related to John in any way? I don't hate it, but I don't like it much.
The John double names are fine, but to me they feel a little pretentious. At best, I'll say they're way too preppy for me.

I like John, but it is boring. Even so, I prefer it to Zane (YUCK) and Jonathan (whiny). Evan is okay and less boring.
Thing is, although I consider John just as boring as Mary, I've known far fewer men named John (although one I have known is my brother) than women named Mary. Maybe that's why I don't hate John the way I do Mary.
John is still a nice, handsome name, though. There are many worse.

I love it. A strong, handsome classic.
Yawn
Sure, it’s a handsome classic, but I also find it dull and anonymous.
