It is a cute name. I wouldn't ever use it for a child, but for a character, I like it. Actually, I was trying to come up with a name for a character in a story the other day, and this helped me decide to name her Maple, so thanks! :)

I love the sound. I’d probably just use it as a middle, but I would like to hear it up front. Part of me thinks it would make more sense to use Mabel, but there’s something about the P that puts Maple ahead in my opinion.

I love it! I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately. I would definitely consider using it.

I like it and I’d use it...but I wonder if my kid would hate it? I went to school with a Maple, don’t know how she felt about her name.

I'd never use it. My brain can't stop saying Syrup after it.

Nah, I’ll pass. I look at Maple the same way I look at Dove: It’s nice, but a bit too cutesy for me.

I don’t like it that much. It’s just makes me think of syrup.

There is a series of children's book about sisters named Maple & Willow. I'm not a fan, all I can think of is maple syrup.

I just added this to my GP list the other day. I don't think it will ever make it onto my main list as it's too cutesy and also too close to dowdy old Mabel but I do like it.

Lovely as a syrup, not a name

Too syrupy; far prefer Mabel.

As a name for a person or character, generally: it just seems kind of eccentric/dorky. Not in a really bad way. Kind of like Spring or Prosper or Meadow - would stay noticeably word-y for a while before you got used to saying it. But it's not a flakey vibe like Rainbow - it could sound 'professional.'As a name for a baby, or to my personal taste: I think it's sort of clunky and ugly, because of the way it ends. -ple like staple and nipple, seems just so very nouny and mundane that it's not quite namey to me.

CuteI'd never use it, but I find it charming. I love arboreal names. :)

No. Maybe for a middle name if my husband really wanted to, but I don’t really like it. The name or the food! Please rate my PNLs! https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/214629

I like it, there’s a lovely Robert Frost poem titled Maple. Not sure I’d use it though.

I like the name, but I don't think I would use it. Maybe as a middle name. My cousin's friend has a daughter named Maple Rose. I'm from Canada and a Leafs fan, so the name has a lot of meaning for me, but... I just worry people wouldn't take someone named Maple seriously and worry that it would sound silly on an adult. If it becomes more popular, I might consider it.

I know someone who has a dog named Maple. Imo it seems better as a dog name than a name for a person or child.

I kind of think it's kind of okay. It's not that different from Mabel, which I like, and I like maple trees. But I wouldn't use it.

I think it's kind of cute. I don't think I'd use it on a child, but maybe a fictional character.

I'd only use it as a middle name or as a casual nickname. It just doesn't seem enough on its own. I have no idea what it could be a nickname for, though, any ideas?

Love it, but...I'm not 100% sure I would use it. People would'nt take the name seriously. It is an adorable name. If I had guts I would use it.
Maple Victoria
Maple Margaret
Maple Gwendolyn

It's as ugly as Mabel, but with the added sickly-sweet maple flavor too.

Definitely. Love it. I also see it as a nice alternative to Mabel which I also like.
