Re: Sylvestra / Silvestra
in reply to a message by Bear
It’s quite striking. I associate it too much with Sylvester though which leads me to think of Stallone and the cartoon cat (not pretty associations!). I would like to meet one/see it used though so I could make new associations.
I prefer the trendier sounding Sylvana, which I find eliminates the above problem.Sylvestra Agnes
Sylvestra Briony
Sylvestra Claudia
Sylvestra Edith
Sylvestra Graciana
Sylvestra Jane
Sylvestra Juniper
Sylvestra Maeveline

Sylvestra Agnes (Ines?), Sylvestra Jane, and Sylvestra Juniper are particularly fetching. Thanks! If I can tweak, what about Sylvestra Claudine? There's a British actress, Sylvestra LeTouzel, where I first fell in love with the name. She's usually in a supporting role, although she starred in "Mansfield Park" in 1983. Maybe she could give you a different association? :0)

Thanks for a different point of reference for the name, hopefully it helps to change my mind.
